Cantemos Juntos, which in English means "Let's Sing Together" is a family folk group which writes
and performs songs in Spanish for children.  Our mission is to stimulate cultural curiosity in children,
to offer to those who do not know Spanish, the experience of learning new words and phrases in a
second language, or to those who already know Spanish,  messages which for us have great
meaning.   As a bilingual family, we understand the great gift of knowing at least two languages and
how this gift enriches many dimensions of life.  Through movement, song, play, voices in harmony,
percussion and guitar, we share what we have created, with children and their families.  Teaching
and sharing with joy is our method for bringing this wonderful dimension to others.

We have created two different repertoires:

Songs Designed to Teach Spanish:
These songs are written with the intention of making learning a second language fun.  They are
upbeat with enough repetition for the young ear to   pick up.  They encourage the child to move and
dance.   Before you know it,  the children you know will be singing in Spanish AND enjoying it!
They will learn numbers, colors, names of animals, movements, etc. etc.   Through song the
children love to learn a second language.   The songs include vocal harmonies, guitar, keyboard
and light rhythmic accompaniment.

Songs Designed to Inspire:
These songs are songs written with what we believe to be important messages for children and their
families.  From "Aqui Estoy" (Here I am) which encourages children to love themselves exactly as
they are, to "Quiero Ser" (I want to be) which teaches that children can be anything they want to be to
"Quiero tocar una Nube" (I want to touch a cloud) which invites a child to use his or her imagination
and explore the possibilities of flying to a cloud.  These songs reach out to the Spanish speaking
child with soft harmonies, light rhythm and guitar accompaniment.

Why Learn Spanish?
The need for a second language is becoming more and more apparent in our society.  Due to the
growing number of Spanish Speakers in the United States.  It is of great value to feel comfortable
speaking and listening to Spanish.   Studies have shown that learning  a second language improves
cognitive ability  in general and that the best time to learn a second language is during early
childhood when the brain is most flexible.
